Wedding in Volterra. English couple Shelina and Peter, in my opinion, have chosen the most beautiful place in Tuscany for their: the hills between Volterra and San Gimignano. Loved by landscape photographers and rich in history, these hills offer a breathtaking view and the feeling of a living painting.
After an hour of traveling from Florence, me and Duccio reached San Gimignano and from there we continued to Volterra. After a few kilometers we found Borgo Pignano, an enchanted place located in an ancient Etruscan hamlet. The main building is a 18th-century villa, in front of a large park, from where you can descend to a swimming pool surrounded by white rocks. From there we enjoyed an incredible view of Volterra and its hills.
We arrived in advance at the villa and we decided to explore a bit to find good spots for the photo session with the couple…and we took a few selfies too! We went to the villa where the luxurious eighteenth-century style was in every corner. We arrived in a room with a pool table at the center where we found Peter and his friends playing pool and drinking beer to relax. We took several photographs and reached the luxury suite of the bride. Shelina is a source of kindness and cordiality.
The light was beautiful and the atmosphere is relaxed and happy. The ceremony took place in the cloister of the villa, the white gravel as a carpet and the ancient walls of the village to frame everything. Gorgeous. After the aperitif we dedicated about 10 minutes to the couple portraits while the guests waited for the speeches and group photos. As soon as it was over, the sun turned into a spectacular sunset, the most beautiful gift for such an amazing couple.
This is a wedding in Volterra. Enjoy!
