This wedding is particularly special to me, as it was my first wedding outside of Europe, and my first time as a Destination Wedding Photographer in Bali. What an amazing experience – my first wedding on the other side of the world!
Bali is a wonderful island. Peace, respect, and spirituality are the basis of Balinese culture.
Even if it sounds crazy, everything is perfectly coordinated in the chaotic traffic of the city, between cars, scooters, dogs, people… It’s incredibly ordinate chaos!
Bali, this beautiful island is affected by its nature, its beaches, cliffs, jungle, and… the monkeys!! Oh, the monkeys!!
There, people don’t care about your clothes, your hairstyle, your job, your shoes… There, what matters is a positive attitude. Your smile is all that matters!
I’m so in love with the Balinese people!
So if you are planning a destination wedding in Bali… Well, that’s the right choice!
You can choose between having a wedding on the beach, on top of a cliff, or even a wedding in the jungle!
And that’s what my sweet couple, Olivia and Shub, chose: a stunning wedding in the jungle at Villa The Sanctuary in Canggu.
But let me tell you how I met them:
They contacted me back in September 2018, as they were looking for an engagement photographer in Tuscany. They were planning their Italian holidays and wanted to have some memorable engagement photos in Val d’Orcia.
We spent a couple of hours between San Quirico d’Orcia and the Tuscan countryside to shoot their engagement photos and we had such a great time!
You have probably already seen their photos on my love stories – if you haven’t, here it is!
While enjoying their engagement photo gallery, Olivia sent me a message: “We are planning our wedding next year… somewhere in Asia… Would you be willing to travel at all?”…
I was so incredibly glad and excited! And of course, I’m more than happy to travel anywhere in the world!
Olivia and Shub gave me the amazing opportunity of telling their special days while also being their guest.
They were absolutely lovely to me and my wife, I’ve rarely seen such a respect for my work and my photography.
Their families were so kind as well – two families mixing different and distant cultures, between China, India, and the West.
My wife Katherine and I spent five days with them, as we were among the guests at their wedding at Villa The Sanctuary. I did not only felt like a Destination Wedding Photographer in Bali, but I also felt like a part of their family. We shared meals and places, laughs, and emotions.
It was a great, great honor and privilege for both Katherine and me.
The wedding days were perfectly organized. We shot pre-wedding photos in Bali in the rice padding and at the water temple first. The next day we had the Sangeet party – and what a crazy party!
And the wedding day was wonderful. We started with the bride and groom getting ready.. and the pizza party!
The ceremony took place in the garden of Villa The Sanctuary, as well as the dinner with its incredible setup, and the wedding day finished with a crazy party at the pool!
The next day, we took some amazing wedding photos in Bali on the cliff of Uluwatu, with a fantastic and romantic view on the ocean.
Thank you!
Thank you to the spouses and their families! And a big thank you to my wife Katherine. She joined me with courage in this new amazing experience as a Destination Wedding Photographer in Bali. She gave me the peace of mind that I needed to afford this big burden. And thank you to my friend Jody, always a fantastic colleague but most of all a dear friend.
We shot more than +11.000 photos… Therefore, clearly had a hard work of culling and editing. Here there are just a few of them. If you love my photos and you are looking for a Destination Wedding Photographer in Bali or wherever you want, please contact me!
